Delicious atole de elote - so rich, so nicely spiced - and zucchini pupusa at Nena's in Bernal Heights! Knowing Spanish definitely helps if you want to order, though. We may have had an adventure. 😂

A low-key spot near or in the Mission. The chef's touch is simply delicious. I usually go to have their sopa de res, and portion control is not a thing for them. The owners are down to earth and they make you feel welcomed. As an added plus, at least for me, they have a jukebox!

Great Salvadorean food. This is probably the best Salvadorean breakfast I have found in the city so far (plantains, eggs, crema, queso, etc).
